Infrastructure Investments Boost Phoenix Economy
The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) recently added $1.25 billion in projects to its long-range Regional Transportation Plan.
Combined with other already scheduled projects in the plan, the funding for freeway and highway projects equals $3.25 billion. An additional $2.5 billion is programmed in the Plan for transit projects. Phoenix mayor Greg Stanton, Tempe mayor Mark Mitchell, Chief Economist for the Associated General Contractors of America spoke about the benefits of the funding. Travis Pettera discussed how the funding directly affects him as he will be working on several projects in the Phoenix area, and Walter Lewis talked about how it this funding affects the South Mountain Freeway Project.
